I would like to know if the evolution would be okay to use with the stock exhaust system. My 07 2500HD reg cab has had no aftermarket items but like the features and the performance gains of the edge evolution. Would like to put on a better exhaust sytem on when the weather up here in Michigan gets warmer. Also what would be a good exhaust system? Butch.

I have the Edge Evolution and have done nothing to the engine. I run on level one but I did run on level three for a week... very fast! On level one the Evo is supposed to be fine on a stock set-up. I believe that is also the case for 2 and 3. I think maybe on steady level 3 it would be wise to go to bigger exhaust.

I am waiting for spring and no more 4x4 to see how my MPG's look. Right now they are in the tank at 13 to 14. I was getting around 16 to 17 with my typical driving (country roads / small town), but then winter came and at the same time I went to 285-17's BFGs. So I don't know how I will be on mileage compared to stock.

Can't help on the exhaust but we are in Michigan... I'd go stainless.

you can run stock exhuast on any level but the good thing is, is with the evo you have a egt guage, that is if you choose to install the probe, and if you do you can watch your temps and all you have to do it watch your temps. you will get hotter temps and faster than if you had aftermarket exhuast tho.

Do not run any type of power adder without an egt gauge unless you really want to kill the turbo. You would not believe how fast the temps climb especially with the stock exhaust. I have a mbrp 4" straight exhaust and on level 3 can push it over 1400 easy. Level 2 is good for towing up to around 5K but more than that and the temps climb fast. The evo has the egt gauge built in and comes with the probe and is very easy to install.
I agree on the stainless exhaust where salt is used.
0 mileage gain on level 1,economy. (go figure)
Lost mileage on level 2 due to fun factor.
Had to super glue my foot to the floor to test mpg on level 3 but with only a half tank test I showed almost 2 mpg increase. I will try again but I do not like the added "rattle" when cold on 3 and can't keep my foot out of it to actually see a gain on a full tank. Rather see that big puff of black smoke when I stomp on it to leave a ricer.

It almost matches the dark charcoal trim perfectly. It can be painted though. I have the dark charcoal and it matches good enough that I left it alone and i am pretty particular about stuff like that.
