has anyone done a convertion into a 1989-98 4x4 truck yet? ive seen one on the net. but just wondering if there were others

I have only seen the one that i beleive Hot Rod did. I think it would make more sense to but a used LB7 regular cab truck and shorten the frame, install a short bed box and tweak the hell out of the engine. That would be a fast truck. A little heavier than a 1500 series but alot less work, bigger brakes with disc's front and rear, and stonger front and rear drivelines.
