Yesterday my girlfriend and I went to summit racing in mcdonough ga to buy me a downpipe, so first thing this morning i went to put it on..... talk about a PITA.... it wouldnt have been that bad if i hadnt broken a crossover pipe bolt... the pipes looked real nice but after taking out the old ones I dont see that much of a difference other than no dents and better bends, will that help that much?

What would be the easiest way to remove a broken bolt? drill and re-tap? Where can I find a gasket for the downpipe?

Help me out a bit here... did it break off flush (or inset), or is there a stub sticking out?

If you have a stub, I would suggest welging a nut onto the stub, letting it cool off, then taking a torch and heating the manifold clange (just that corner) until it's red, and turning out the stud. Then just clean up the threads (after if cools off) and putting in a new stud.

If it's inset, you're gonna end up drilling, but I wouldn't re-tap... I'd drill and replace with a HS bolt. Makes it harder to tighten up (gotta hold the top still) but it works better, in the long run.

its got a stub but just a little one, also I dont have a welder.... so what is an HS just a regular nut and bolt? honestly would it be a good idea to change them all? Because I'm going to have to find a whole set of bolts to replace them because they are rusted...

HS - Hardened Steel... don't put a 24 cent bolt in there - it'll rust, stretch, and you'll have to do it again. Buy a decent nut and bolt for $1. Do it once.

I wouldn't change all the studs, in any case, unless they're skinny or broken. If you can tighten them up properly, they're good to go. The cross-over is a non-moving part, so once you have it tightened up, it should stay put forever.

You got a decent muffler shop nearby? They pull studs all the time, and trust me, every so often, one breaks. They have more experience than anyone else in taking them back out.

Just out of curiousity, why did you pull the cross-over (in the FIRST place) when all you wanted to do was change the downpipe?

I got the flowmaster kit with the crossover.... yeah that will definatly help, i'll just buy some HS bolts to go in place of the old ones and do the nut and bolt on the broke one....

Easiest way to get a broken bolt out if you have a torch.

1) buy a cobalt 1/8 drill bit
2) gind the bolt flat if possible then center puch bolt
3) drill all the way through the bolt, make sure you don't go very far off center
4) heat up bolt red hot with flame going through the hole you just drilled.
5) as quickly as possible get water on it squirt bottle or spray bottle so on, the rapid cooling will shink the bolt.
6) typically if there is any exposed treads left it will just come out by hand but may need a easy out or vise grips.

In 20 years of owning and working in salt buisness this has never ever failed.

There isn't a gasket on the 3" turbo downpipe. The clamp seals it.
