for those of you out there that put more stock in a redundant multi v-belt system for turning your accessories, here is a 10 blade 19" fan upgrade for ya.... it is a clock-wise rotation, comes from the first gen. military hummers... it was $140.00 shipped to our door, built by borg warner, and purchased through hummerpartsguydotcom..... and it did not include the fan clutch...

Once I get my stupid jimmy running, I'm gonna look straight at this.

That and a new fan clutch would keep my K5 happy.

I flirted with the idea of serp. And even had all the brackets to pull off of a parts truck, but decided against it. I did steal a serp.belt alternator though and swapped it to my Vs (CS130 swap)

i dont like serp set ups and never have. they gotta be perfectly in line, and dont enjoy it when mud, dirt and bugs, straw, hay, stubble, leaves and whatever else get jammed in their little ribs. V belts however chew all this stuff up and keep on.... umm... belting? lol. ill be checkin that fan out for sure next summer if my 6.2 keeps getting warm on me. great find you guys.

I would really like a review/opinion when you put it on. My truck was getting hot while driving the beach in the summer, now it just gets warm. I am pretty sure it needs a clutch but while i am there.................. :)

ours pulls huge air compared to the steel one... hard to say how much it helps, with winter on the door step and all...LOL... also we have a radiator custom built with 4 cores... before the hummer fan/turbo install, we never seen any temp. over 1/4 on the gauge, pulling 12,000lbs on a 30 degree day in july...

I'm guessing this fan wont work for someone with a serp belt setup(came factory on my '90)
But it looks pretty awesome, I'm trying to pick up a 80's model blazer with a 6.2, and this'll be my first mod to it.

How much did the 4 core cost(if you don't mind sharing). is it copper/brass. or aluminum?

hummerpartsguy also sells the fan for the serp. setup.... when we did our rad 3 years ago it cost $500.00... its a true blue copper/brass beauty still in great shape.... one of the best investments we have made...:)

I'm going to have to look in to getting that fan for myself as well. Seeing as how I was towing a pretty damn light camper and having horrible heat trouble the whole 2hr trip. It was so bad I had to have my dad tow it home with our Yukon XL.

I already need a radiator, but I know thats only part of the problem, that fan would probably be my best asset. I'll have to talk to my radiator guy about building me a 4 core copper/brass. As mine is almost completely plugged up, and its starting to leak again...

OK I got my hummer fan! I have a very new fan clutch already installed on my truck, but do you guys use a 6.2 or 6.5 hummer fan clutch? Or are they the same?
The difference in the fans is the same as water pumps, different rotation for v-belt compared to serpentine belt set-ups.....the actual clutches themselves might be set to "lock" at different temps....not absolutely sure
what the temps are though....someone else will come on......meanwhile I will search some for pertinent information.....brb.
