Hi all

I have a 94 K1500 with a 4L80E. Local guy has a 95 4L80E out of a 6.5

Visually they look similar, the cooler lines are both close together on both trannies, and there is no top bolt on the bell housing. They are also both OBD1 which should be in my favour

My research has resulted in the following differences, let me know if I am missing something
- the donor's 95 has a neutral safety switch? No idea what this means? Just a note, my 94 wont start unless it is in P or N, so does this mean I have one too
- the donor's 95 does have a longer shifter arm pin, this needs to be swapped with my 94 arm pin, to get to this, remove the pan?
- my 94 can be shifted out of gear without pressing on the brake, the donor's 95 I don't think you can? Is this a tranny consideration or is this somewhere else?
- shift linkage, I was told I can just use mine out of the 94 since it is different.

Thanks!!!!

You are good to go.
94 does not need the neutral safety switch.
You do need to swap the shift shaft so your existing shift linkage will work.
Press brake to shift is not part of the transmission.
You need to use your existing 94 shift linkage.
Otherwise the trannys are identical.
Only other consideration, is the 95 a 4wd?
