I have been back and forth with my dealer on a slight surging idle for some time. I had an in vehicle data recorder from them for a week and captured some information. The desired fuel pressure was at 10007.6 and the actual is 7893.0. They are suggesting that they are going to replace the high pressure relief valve. Are they on the right track? Or could I ask for some thoughts... as to possibly help them diagnose?

Any help is appreciated.

Also, they have circled on the report... DTC Set This Ignition - YES... I am not really sure what that means. Thanks.

2001's were known for weak FRPCV's, that is the cause of the lopey idle and surging.

You might get them to good will warranty it.

The part is a PITA to change.

pita only when the motor is warm

definitely sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. just changed an 01's a month ago. i do recall that on my 02 that an older version of the quadzilla box would make mine do the same thing

My 02 threw a p1093 code it says lack of fuel rail pressure upon fuel enrichment. Does yours have the same code? I figured it was a regulator but i wasnt sure

i have set a 1093 before, not since the upgraded regulator
