The dealer is not empowered to void the emissions warranty. I believe they are bound by EPA regs to honor it. If you experienced an emissions related problem that required some warranty work...and your cat is missing...they are required to report you to the EPA. Then you will be fined and required to return the vehicle to its stock form. Once you have returned the vehicle to stock the emissions warranty will be in effect until end of the normal warranty period...something like 150,000 miles?towdog333;1566971; said:..... If the dealer knew that he would more a likely void the warranty.
It all depends on the dealer my friendChosenOne;1567087; said:The dealer is not empowered to void the emissions warranty. I believe they are bound by EPA regs to honor it. As far as the regular powertrain warranty....I doubt the tech would even notice the missing cat.
That would be good, but once the vehicle visits the dealership, it is entered into the GM datra bank, which all dealers can get into. They will list what they have found.dls64chev;1567030; said:Well will give it a try and if there is a problem we will re-install and move to the next dealer.
