I have an 01 GMC edge 6 th stage new racing and pulling tranny AEM intake a set of BD injector tips boost increase nozzle. Anyways I came cruisin up to the stop light and a WS6 Trans AM was sittin there my buddy who is die hard dodge was ridin with me and I wanted to see if I as compareable. So I boosted my truck up to about 5 PSI (Can't get it to go more without it starting to spin) The light turned green and I put the hammer down left him there as he smoked the tires and was runnin away from him up to about 80 and then he was coming up fast. He gave me one hell of a big smile:D and a thumbs up when we slowed down. What the hell do I have to stay on top of it. No truck has been a contest yet

An LS1 WS6 TA (1998-2002) will run about 13.5 @ 107 off the showroom floor. Notice the trap speed. They are traction challenged on the factory tires, and will run about 12.9 with ET Streets on them. Popular Mechanics actually nudged a 13.1 out of one bone stock, but the track they ran at was prepped better than normal. The factory speed limiter kicks in at 162mph.

Only if equipped with Z rated tires from the factory... Or altered otherwise.

ALL WS6's are equipped with Z-rated tires and a 162 mph or so speed limiter.

And just how much road does that take?

I know F-bodies are wickedly fast cars. Mustangs never stood a chance against them.
I'm pretty sure one could own my truck too.

Well, from a 70 mph roll I had no problem hitting 160 in a 1.7 mile stretch of road. :D

I guess that's what could be called a "flying mile."

That rocks, the fastest I've ever been on land was 134 in an SCT 6.0 'Stroke. I think it took about 2 miles to do that, too.

wow, about 2 weeks before i nuked my tranny, i ran on the street against a burnt orange trans am, that was fast as hell, he barely beat me off of the light, but as soon as the turbo spooled up, i pulled past him all of the way up to about 90 where i had a whole length and a half on him, when i let out cause i didnt want to go any faster in town, at the next light i took it easy no big deal, but he took off, and as he did, i saw what looked like a little grey plaque on the back toward the right tail light that said WS6, i figured it was some kind of intake or exhaust that all of "those" kinda guys cover their cars with. I guess now i know. lol. I asked him at the light and he said it was all stock except exhaust, whick led to my assumption about the plaque. Which takes me back to the statement that the banks-hypertech stack, on the LB7 at least, is STRONG!!

ws6 package cars are straight fast. i was riding my 600 rr home one night . and two of them pulled up next to me. they wanted to play but i wasnt really in the mood. so i let them pass me at first then i decided that i had had enough. dropped a few gears and nailed it. they where in seperate lanes. so i decided to split them. when i went in between them i was doing about 120. i heard them drop gears and they did a decent job of keeping up with me until about 150 or so. and i guess they just decided to give up. couldnt keep up anymore

between baseline Trans Ams, Z28's, SS's, and WS6's, I've seen maybe 10hp difference on the dyno, most of those packages are a few exterior things, wheel/tires, and a couple upgraded suspension pieces. When I picked up one of my Camaros a few years back, it went 13.40s, and it was a stock to the nuts, quiet as ever, automatic car with 120,000miles on it....sure suprised me

And then there's that Forumula that looks like a V-6 'Bird from the outside.

All this is reminding me how bad I want a Firehawk.

Ill tell ya guys what car surprised me the other day was a new GTO! Them cars are quick. I was messin with one from light to light until he finally ran me! Only thing was is that I had given up on gettin him to race me so I wasnt ready to run him. He pulled me by about 3/4 of a car till we let out around 80! He was a much better race than alot of cammaros and T/A's ive ran.
