I'm researching a lift kit for my new GMC and was looking at some installation instructions and I see where most of the kits require one to CUT OFF one of the front differential housing mounts.

The horror!

Being kinda new to this, I'm a little squeamish about things like this, especially with a brand new $40K truck.

Anyway my questions:

- Are there any lifts that don't require this cut?

- On the lifts that do need this cut, is there some alternate mounting provided, or do you just go with one less mounting point? (scary!)

Please discuss. THANKS!!!

The Cognito 7-9 inch kit only requires that you shave about 1/4 inch off of the front mount. There is one more cut that has to be made to the frame, but this can be welded back if needed, but is not required to go back to stock.

Not to worry! Cognito sells a great bracket that bolts onto your diff if you ever want to go back. That's what I used on my truck and it worked flawlessley.

Answer to your second Q: The kit comes with a bracket that relocates the second mount to the subframe
