I'm very green on these big trucks, but an engine is an engine right?? This is what I'm working on, '94 Volvo (WhiteGMC) 50,000 gvw with a Cummins N14 (CUM94 [email protected]).
Friend just got this thing a few months ago, all has been good til today. It was running just fine here, he goes to leave and it almost dies, then runs fine. 100yards down the road it dies (like no fuel). I pull it back to work here and it has yet to restart. There is fuel in the fuel filter, but I can't seem to get any fuel to feed to the injectors. It's almost like the fuel pump is out, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. There doesn't seem to be an 'injector pump', lines or fuel pump like I'm use to seeing. There is a fuel line going into the block at the rear of the engine next to this big black box. Fuel line comes out of the block on the other side of the black box and goes to the fuel filter. Loosened the line at the fuel filter and cranked the engine, no fuel sperting out.
What an I missing? Does that black box control anything? What I would call the fuel pump is attached to the air pump, right? Anyone familiar with what I'm looking at and can give me insight?
Thanks.
