06 LBZ, coolant smell and noticed a few drops around overflow hose. No bubbles in tank, no coolant in oil and no oil in coolant. Upper hose goes back to soft after cooling down. I already replace cap thinking that was it. Only happens after running it hard. Any ideas?

Yeah ive read through the threads of what people have paid at dealerships. I know a guy who does these kinds of jobs on the side but hes booked out for months. I have been contemplating taking some time off of work and doing it myself. I will most definitely do the studs, have the heads checked, cleaned and gone right through while they're off. Even though I know its a big time commitment, the piece of mind knowing that I did it and made sure everything that needs to be addressed has been addressed is starting to sway me towards doing this myself. Last winter I had the truck torn down for cab corners, rockers, fuel lines, cooler, bed sides, body work and a bottom half paint job. Hoping not to have this truck become a winter garage queen. Did you use any manuals or books to help you guys along or was everything pretty straight forward?

Good idea with the kiddie pool, Luckily ill be doing it in a big truck shop so I have access to a parts washer and pretty much every tool I need. Good idea with the blocks, I was thinking about yanking the tires. Thanks for the help, I may pick your brain again soon.
