After about 35 truck pulls and about 8 of those with a bigger turbo, And around 30 quarter mile passes i decided to do a compression test to figure out if i was pulling the engine for a rebuild.

left bank was right bank was
1-425 2-440
3-415 4-415
5-430 6-420
7-427 8-420
I think stock compression is around 430ish?

Yup, miniumum of 300 psi. Lots of variables to that though.

Best rule of thumb is that they are all within 10-15%. Looks like your good as far as that goes. Still dont rule out bent rods though. BoBo's truck had good consistant compression, and ALL his rods were bent.

After MANY efforts to 'test' mine, I've decided that the compression test is only usefull when looking for ring wear or the like. I've had this disussion with ALOT of experts and I think the only way to really know if we have short rods is to lift the head and look. ( I wish someone could tell me an easier way):(
