That one cylider is a little lower but is that enough to cause problems?

What is the line and what are the problems. For example,
  • Smoking at 350
  • runs rough at 250
  • doesn't run at 200
I realize this would depend on how many cylinders are affected, but does anyone have any knowledge either way (whether one or more cylinders affected).

Yes those numbers above I just made up and are probably way off, or maybe not.

My truck had a small hole in the #6 piston and did not produce noticable smoke until it cracked all the way through.

Is it hard to crank or hard starting. By this I mean, does the engine crank over slow or noisy or does it crank over fine, but hard to fire up? The 340 compression is a concern, but shouldn't prevent it from starting or running.
