i really like the cognito leveling kit and its fairly inexpensive. Im looking really for a 4" lift but i do not have the money for the cognito 4-6" lift plus new wheels and tires. Can you get 3-4" safely out of the cognito leveling kit? im also going to be adding the pitman and idler arm support kit. Im hoping to keep the stock wheels and add 285/75/16 tires. The back is easy with a block and new shocks. Any suggestion or tips is appreciated. I searched but nothing could really answer my questions.

Stock with the torsion bars turned up will fit 285's. There is no reason to spend all that money to run 285's. I have my bars turned up slighty with green keys and mine fit fine. All total $40 for the keys and $75 for front end alignment. I just saved you a bunch of money and later I will tell you how to save money on your car insurance as well....:D

He is looking to get 3", no way your are going to enjoy the ride of your truck going that high just cranking the torsion bars or adding keys alone.

3" is sorta reference only...as all trucks might sit different.

I did get 3" with STOCK keys but could not have w/o shock extensions. Also, probably...(didnt try it w/o), woulda had a bad ride w/o cognito upper arms cause stock upper arm woulda contacted drop-out stop in everyday driving.

GMC2500HD is right in one manner that I coulda got 285s on without the upper arms had I been happy w/ about 2" of cranking. I wanted more clearance so when I have my plow on, and it squats, I dont rub.

My truck rides just fine and that is all I have.

That's all i have too... BUT, when riding across fields or around the side streets in winter up here (worse than pastures).. my suspension top's out regualarily and I have ruined my ball joints.

If I was on the hardtop most or all the time I wouldn't waste my money either.

I'm about to drop some $$ on Cognito A-arms. Will try to call Nick later today.

You guys can check mine out in my garage. I myself am very pleased with the results over trying it without the kit.
