Hello,

When I plug my cell phone charger into the cigarette lighter power supply, I notice that the charger remains powered even when the truck is turned off. Can the lighters be programmed to turn off when the truck is turned off?

I don's want to risk having my laptop or cell phone kill the battery of I leave it plugged in too long.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

It won't kill it if your battery is in decent shape.
The cellular will completely charge in a couple of hours and not draw much after that.

There have been more than a few times that I've forgotten and left my 400 watt AC inverter turned on and charging my laptop, cordless drill, or other things. 8 hours, no problem... cranks right over in the morning.

Same story for my '03 Tundra.

I think these trucks have a battery rundown protection. Not exactly sure how it works but wouldn't this prevent you from running the battery dead with accessories?
