Not sure this is the right forum but I'll start here. I'd like a cheap code scanner for my LLY to read and clear codes. Maybe for under $100? I don't know anything about these so any info is appreciated. Brand? Price? Where to buy? Thanks guys

Edit: So will any OBDII code reader work?

I went with the Equus 3100 in the first link. Walmart carries them for $100. Tried it out tonight and it worked fine. It reads and clears codes which is what I wanted. Seems like a quality product if anyone else is looking for one.

I too have the Actron, works well, just wished it could scan ALL the codes that the dealer seems to find that I cant.

A used predator would be a good suggestion if you are planning on keeping your truck around awhile. If you want to change the computer for larger tires, want a 120 mph shut down speed, or maybe 40 to 85 hp upgrade, it can do it. For my OBDII stuff as the LLY is OBDIII, I use a laptop and an OBDIIall in one. Scans every protocol so it doesn't matter if it's GM,Ford, or VW. Just a couple suggestions.
