Is there a way, like a chip or something, where you can use the phone part of onstar with another service??

I know it won't be easy, but I just wanted to know if it could be done.

Most likely not... Cingular uses a totally differnt digital communication scheme (GSM) as well as a differnt frequency band...All the internal components would have to be changed

Affirmative on Verizon, but you must pay $10 per month extra, plus you must sign for the plan that allows this option. You are basically buying one plan and sharing the minutes between the two phones, OnStar and your cell.

America's ChoiceSM Plan with OnStar

Now there's a wireless plan no one else can offer. It's the Verizon Wireless America's ChoiceSM Plan with OnStar, a Family SharePlan that lets you share your Verizon Wireless Plan minutes between your wireless phone and your OnStar Hands-Free Calling.
