We went to LACR this morning with a crappy DA of 3690 ft and no track prep Since I knew the traction was bad because our corvette friends where running .2 to .3 slower, I didn't launch hard enough.

I make the first pass in Casper. McRat goes to make the 2nd pass. I hear POP and see a bunch of white smoke

I thought that Casper was toast.... Then I see him drive back to the pits 10 minutes later he just blew off the bottom of inter-cooler boot But he ran over the clamp and we had to call it a day.

Well, we either need to find a sticky track, or ditch the street tires.
Another batch of rubber splattered all over the truck from all four tires spinning.

I ran a 13.0 @ 65mph when the intercooler boot blew, and still beat the 60's Dodge Hemi in the other lane. I was hoping it was just a boot when I heard the bang, but fully expected it be much worse.

Charger did not work as well at high DA as it did last week, but oddly kept the MPH up with 10% less boost.

Oh, to answer a question that's been asked alot, I stopped at a certified scale on the way home, and with an 1/8th tank of fuel and me in it, it scaled at 6480lb. Certainly not the 5900lb that some folk have posted at various sites.

Looks like some double clamping might be helpful for you Pat... that and using a little of Kat's hairspray on the metal surfaces before you attach the boot.

Use a tiny tiny bit of acetone on a white cotton rag to wipe off the inside of the boot. It will mildly 'etch' the inside surface and give a little more 'bite' where the boot meets the flange.
