Please lmk if you can recommend a good 6.5l mechanic in the LA area. Close to San Pedro or Sherman Oaks/ valley area, or somewhere between.
Hopefully someone that knows 6.5l well.
I have a 1994 6.5l Chevy Suburban Turbo Diesel.

It needs some deferred maintenance but right now has a fuel delivery issue and won't stay on after starting, so maybe the injectors or the injection pump.
Please lmk! (Business name and where)
Thank you!

Finding a knowledgeable 6.5 mechanic to work on a 28-year-old vehicle is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack.

You are better off using the information from this site and asking the members here for help and do the work yourself to know it was done right and saved money

In a 1994, replace the Lift Pump (EP158 or any LP from 93 model year) and the Oil Pressure Sender (needs genuine ACDelco D1808).
Check all the hoses in and out of the FFM.
I suspect, the FFM may be leaking also, which in this case, you probably cheaper buying a whole new unit from RockAuto where you probably need to buy all those part above.
Instead of replacing the o-rings. The wires grommet that cannot be resealed on the side.
You can find just any honest mechanic that can do wrenching and tell them to replace those and bring them the parts.
Those parts are weak point in a 94-95 6.5L TD engine especially with age.

Load test the batteries one at a time.
Go from there.

As far as fuel hoses, there are 1/4" hoses out from FFM and 3/8" hose into the FFM (very short).
Some members, including me, have raised the FFM so the hoses can be routed above the intake to the IP from FFM.
It is easier to see when leaking.
