I was told today at the dealer that all 2007 trucks have to have a smog test every 4 years? is this true? :eek:

I think it's trucks manufactured after Jan. 1 2007, not necessarily any "2007 model year". Other states have been doing diesel inspections for a while now.

Just bought my 07 Classic, because I was told the new body style 07's would be smogged after 4 years then every other year.

I just checked the CA.GOV website and do not see any information regarding a smog rewuirment for diesels. Here is the link;
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm

Maybe I missed something, but from what I can see, we still have no smog tests.

Las Vegas has required smog checks on diesel pickups for several years. All new vehicles are exempt on the initial registration and first renewal. After that, it is every year. All used vehicles have to be smogged before you can register, and then yearly after that, unless it is a 'classic' car (1969 or older).

Yea, I've heard that the CALI trucks 2007 and newer will be subject to smog checks. :mad: I'm not sure on the frequency of checks but should be the same as the gassers. So, for mods, you may want to hang onto the LBZ, LLY or LB7.
