I mounted my in the stake hole on the drivers side of the bed, sorry no pics I'll take some tomorrow and post them. I took a piece of flat stock aluminum and made my own base. Screwed it right into the bed.

Two of my buddies have GMC and got a mount to mount it on the front fender sticking out from under the hood.

Where is the best place to put an antenna? Anybody have any pics of there truck with an antenna?
Do a search. Someone has been making a bracket that mounts the antenna right below the windshield and behind the hood in the black plastic are. It looked good too.

Most people that use a VHF mount the antena on the driver's side on a bracket that sticks up between the hood and fender.

Merchant Auto sells one that mounts to inner fender well on the driver's side retaining a factory look that matches the radio antenna on the pass side. I am actually about to go to his site and order mine...It's 35.00
