I was remembering, my dad used to have a special can of a very lightweight, yellow/whitish fluid that he used for lubricating the various bushings in our cars and trucks.... like control arm bushings, leaf spring shackles, etc....

Does anyone know what this was, and if it is still available or even if it is still needed?

My father did the same thing. He used castor oil. I suspect it is less needed today than back then. My father told me it was to keep natural rubber bushings from drying out. But today, I suspect the bushings are all synthetic and may not need such treatment to keep them supple.
