I have a issue, its a 2007 classic. I have to push my brake pedal about 3 inches before anything happens, it has that much dead space. I was wondering how far my brake pedal should travel before the brake lights come on, turn off cruise control, turn off high idle, or just start brakeing. Everytime i hit pedal i usually have to tap it 2 or 3 times before i get what i want. So is this normal and can it be adjusted? Also when i get into the brakes hard the pedal pushes back at me, it seems to only do it when its cold out or the truck is just after me. Even my ratty 96 gmc sierra with 200,000 miles on it only took a slight tap to switch brake lights or turn off cruise. Thanks

When you just tap the brakes, the lights and cruise turn off should imediately activate. The 'dead space' sounds like it should be a lot less. I'd take it in and complain. If they say it is normal, ask the tech to grab the Tech2 and do an 'automated bleed' or 'function test' on the ABS system. This usually brings the pedal back to normal.
