I had a buddy run black Moto Metal 951's in the winter and destroy them with the salt. finish started flaking off bad. This is the only experience or knowledge about someone running black wheels in the winter. Maybe a bad coating on the wheels or maybe the salt? Hopefully someone can give some other opinions. I ran chrome in the winter one time. I religiously coated them with WD-40, be it good or bad for the wheels, and never had a problem.
I ran some black 18x9 Helo Maxx6's on my old half ton all winter long, no problems. I also ran my chrome 18x10 Driv Blitz last winter and had no problems. Its all in how clean and how well you take care of them.
