I know this has been discussed many times but I have to ask.
I just turned over 100K on my 01 Ext Cab 4x4 w/ allison tranny. I am running the hypertech on level II. I usualy average 17 mpg which is not too bad, but this week something changed.
I filled up last Sunday (1/21/07) with a tank of LSD (500ppm) fuel at a truck stop here in Knoxville. It was the first time I had used this station and I was worried about fuel quality, so I added 1/2 quart of PowerService Additive. I drove the truck the same as usual this week and the fuel guage seemed to be broken. I had 348 miles on the odometer and still had almost 1/2 tank of fuel. I got worried the guage had screwed up so I stopped at a station near home and filled up. Well, it only took 14.5 gallons to top it off. THAT'S 24mpg
Can anyone tell me what changed.....so I can do it again!!! Do these trucks get better with age???
