The factory trailer harness has a battery lead in it and mine is not hot is there something that i have to connect to make it work or do i have a fuse blown somewhere ?

I think you need to put the fuse in under the hood. Take a look at you owners manual it should show in there which fuse it is. If I remeber right it is a square 40 amp - green fuse. There should be a blank in there now.

I've looked at the manual and I don't see where it shows where a fuse goes it does show 2 empty spaces at the top next to stud 1 and between ign. 1 and 2

You need a fuse in the 'stud1' position. The truck is shipped with a plastic 'dummy' fuse there. Ignore the owners manual discussion about the fuse where it discusses single vs. dual batteries as that information is for gas trucks only (they just conveniently don't tell you that little detail).

Thanks Wayne, I just went out and put a fuse in it and it works!!The manual is a little confusing
