I have a 2002 3500 Duramax/Allison.

I replaced the batteries with Optima Yellow Tops last May (2005). Since then I have not driven the truck too much. This winter I have determined if I let the truck site for about two weeks the batteries do not have enough power to Glow/Crank/Start the engine. If I charge the batteries they seem to be fine.

I am beginning to think one of the batteries is bad or not holding a charge as well as the other.

Any thoughts on how long I can let the truck sit without a battery charger hooked up?

I haven't had time yet to find the receipt and drive over to the battery store.

I probably need to buy a battery load tester some time.

Now that I don't drive the truck every day I was wondering how long the truck can sit and still start when cold.
