The 3500 chassis cab has a factory aux (back where the spare tire should be that automatically pumps to the main tank using a frame mounted electric pump). AFAIK, that is not an option in a bedded dually. All DMax's have the same main tank capacities, 26 gallons in shortbed and 32 gallons in longbeds, and there are no shortbed duallys, right?

nope no short bed duallies.

there are aux tanks that you could buy that would transfer fuel when you get below 3/4 tank.

There are replacement tanks that hold more fuel. I have one from Aero Tanks that is 53 gallon.

Transfer Flow makes larger tanks that fit under the bed. They also make Aux. tanks that are made out of aluminum diamond plate (anyone correct me if I'm wrong) that fit in the bed where your tool box would fit.

Dad has a 100 gal. L-shaped Tanks w/ a tool box welded too it so it's all one unit. It's made by UWS (United Welding Supply) out of Perry, FL. Very nice tank and tool box.

One correction, the standard tank on the dually is 34, not 32. Transfer Flow also makes a 56 gal tank that replaces the OEM tank...for about $840, plus shipping, plus installation.

Transferflow tanks are nice, but expensive. $840 for 20 more gallons wasn't enough for my use, as we run the trucks over the road for hire on a daily basis. I run ATTB tanks (American Tank and Tool Box) in my trucks. www.auxtank.com My dually has a 65 gal, and the 4500 versa-hauler has a 95 gal. I have a simple toggle switch on the dash, and when i throw the switch, a valve under the truck switches which tank the fuel is pulled from. On the 3500 truck, the factory fuel gauge works both, and shows whichever one is currently switched on. (the 4500 has a seperate aux. gauge in the dash, due to wiring differences between light and med. duty trucks)

They were each about $1600 including shipping and installation at the local truck upfitter in town.
