I'm trying to take the front half of the charger off, and it won't budge.

I disconnected the top oil line, water lines, and center band.

Is there something holding it other than "stickion"?

Any tips on how to get it off?

That did it. Bigger hammer. :D

Anyone know where the turbo oil drain line connects to the block? Trying to avoid pulling everything off the driver's side of the motor.

Connects to the block with 2 bolts, and is strong enough that you must unbolt it before that charger will budge.

right at the bottom of the turbo center section and it travels almost straight down

Small hands will help get you in, or use some of partsguys 'love lube'

The turbo oil drain bolts to the block (actually, it doesn't bolt to the block, it attaches to the rear adapter plate) underneath the drivers side up-pipe to turbo pedestal flange. I find it easier to loosen the drivers side up-pipe from the manifold so the up-pipe will lay back out of the way...

Odd. That GM tutorial doesn't mention the oil return line.

Do this mean turbo number 2 is bad on Casper?

Yeah that do mean. :D

The LBZ charger ran even hotter than the LLY, and it started to make noise.
Nowhere near the carnage of the first one, no alum pieces in the intake.

Is an oil temp gauge in your future Pat?
Probably not. I'm putting on a BD to lower the EGT's, and I hope that will bring things down a level of sanity.

Err... Trying to put on a BD. Taking a lunch break. ;)

Good luck with the BD install. Looking forward to the results.

You think that is bad, you should see the SI precedure for replacing the CP3... "Remove 4 bolts and pull"... Not kidding either.

Odd. That GM tutorial doesn't mention the oil return line.
