I just spoke with an Ally tech. He said the spin on filter needs to be replaced at 5k and then the next time to change is 75k under heavy load conditions and 150k under normal conditions. What I am wondering is. Does that mean i don't change the oil on my trans for that long or just replace the filter at those intervals and just replace the oil at like 15k or 30k. Sorry to sound so ignorant..

Maybe the interval changed for the '06's, but the manual for my '05 says:

Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement (Allison Transmission Only)
Vehicle with Allison Transmission only: Change automatic transmission fluid and filter.
Interval: Every 50,000 miles unless the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions: 1) In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90 F (32 C) or higher, 2) In hilly or mountainous terrain, 3) When doing frequent trailer towing, and 4) Uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery service. If vehicle is driven under these conditions, change every 25,000 miles.

If you look at the sticky post at the top of this category, I believe what's recommended there is spin on filter at 5,000 and fluid change and spin on filter at 30,000.
