Not sure if this is were this need to go but my question is when towing a load and you have a downshift, does the rpm's rev a little higher than it should before actually shifting to the lower gear and then drop off a couple of rpm's when it engauge's in that gear? This is my first diesel/allison don't really know how it should shift. Hope I explained this so you can understand what is doing during shifting.

Shifting

Yes 3 things happen on a downshift. 1- Torque converter clutch releases 2- downshift takes place RPM pick up 3- TC locks up again RPM pull down a little
