Hi everyone, just joined the forum, seems like a good place with knowledgeable people that might be able to help me with my problem.
2004.5 (LLY) Silverado, with a 5 speed Allison, slams into reverse pretty bad and into drive is rough enough as well but not as bad as reverse is. I did not have the little shift indicator light under the PRND321, so I put a NSBU switch into the truck, which gave me the little indicator back. The indicator light is solid in all gears except reverse, where it flashes. The truck is also in "limp mode", where the truck is stuck in either 2nd or 3rd, probably 3rd.
The truck was parked for about 2 years for an injector harness problem that was put on the back burner that I am going to have parts in next week. When the truck was parked it only had 2/3 for some time before (truck doesn't really leave the farm much). So I am trying to get this thing to run through all the gears. She's a project for sure. Truck is bone stock, about 130k miles on it. I have done the NSBU which got the shift indicator back, so I don't think that is the problem. I don't have a code reader but I am going to pull codes with a friends tool later this week and I'll let you all know what codes it has.
Could it be a valve/solenoid? Or could there be some electrical problem somewhere? What should I look at first? TIA

Welcome to DieselPlace

Those codes are important to have for proper diagnostics. When you get them please post here

With that many codes showing I would go through every inch of your engine wire harness looking for any rubbed through wire insulation, corrosion, broken wires, rodent damage, loose connections, etc

Could it be the internal harness inside the trans that runs into the solenoid block and goes outside the trans? I’ll have to chase some wires, given a lot of these codes are for all the solenoids in there there’s gotta be a break in a wire somewhere. Any good places to look in particular that might be a known problem?
