Well its official today. Dropped my truck off at the dealer and what a shock  I've got bad injectors. Truck has 170,000ml so no warranty. The dealer wanted $4780 to replace all 8. I tried to find out which injectors were the problems but they wouldn't even do a fuel return rate test or balance rates without charging me extra. All they did was say yep fuel in your oil GM bulletin says replace all 8. So moral of the story. Where can aftermarket injectors be had? GMParts direct no longer sells them. Are there any trustworthy injectors remanufacturers out there. Any help is appreciated.

eBay you'll find a set of 8 remans that routinely goes for $1000-1500... but if you're going to do it yourself, consider aftermarket; I'm sure a couple vendors will chime in here.

if you're willing to take the risk, consider having it done at the dealer and then hope chevy will pick up the tab later on IF they decide to cover the '04's in the LB7 warranty extension; this is only worth it if you're willing to pay the full ~$4800 now out of pocket and HOPE they extend the special policy...

there any way you could get them to replace them if you show them the TSB?
They've probably got the TSB, and they'll happily replace them, but he's got an '04 with 177k on it, far out of warranty (100k). '04's havent been included in the LB7 warranty extension, YET :( .

They did my GMC 04 lb7 injectors under warrenty, but i only had 47,000 miles.
Mine's currently in now for injectors, brought it in at 99,745 miles. I BARELY thought they were bad, and I thought I was going to be eating a $85 diag charge, but I figured I might as well while I still had the chance. I'm in school now, I would'a NEVER been able to afford $4,000+ repair bill on my truck if I'd let it slide.

Call GM. Beg and plead. If that doesn't work tell them that you consider the 01-03 extended to 200,000 miles as an admission of a defect, and since the 04 has the same parts it should be included.

As far as aftermarket injectors, AFAIK, they all use a stock injector with a modified nozzle.

I tried to talk to the dealer and he was no help at all. I said something about calling GM and he basically laughed at me. I'm looking at just doing them myself. Theres no way I can afford paying the dealer. I'm a Lcpl in the Marine Corps I don't make a whole lot. Not to mention They want almost a third of what I paid for the truck for injectors. I understand that even aftermarkets are all just remans but was wondering if anyone has used them yet. And who has a good reputation. Thanks

Remember that the extended warranty doesn't cover all injector failures, just some modes that were design based. Fuel in crank case is one symptom that is due to a failure mode covered I know of for sure, also CEL for some codes I believe. I don't think normal wear is covered on extended warranty.

NO such thing as aftermarket injectors, at least not yet.

Pay the money, but ask them if they will come with a lifetime warranty on them since your paying for them out of pocket. My local Chevy dealer offers that, not sure the exact plan or whatever, but I've turned alot of guys over to them for injectors simply for the lifetime warranty. I've also had guys that had injectors done at other dealers out of pocket and needed them again and they honored the lifetime warranty with just an invoice from last place

If Chevy does them under warranty, the use remans too. No new unless you pay for them new.

I don't care if there remans or new as long as they work properly. As much as I would like to pay the dealership to do it, I can't afford $4700. I can do it myself for $1-1500. I don't get a lifetime waranty but at least I have a driveable truck. Beggers can't be choosy:eek::

Exactly. The remans will work just as well as news would, you'll never know the difference. Keep an eye on eBay.

Can anyone tell me what gaskets, orings and such are required. And maybe the best place to get them. Thanks
