OEM Filter is primary filter whem installed alone. Does the OEM Filterbecome the secondary filter when an additional filter is installed between it and the tank. BG Edited by: Bill Gisse

The OEM might still catch some water. Also, still need the primer pump.
Need someone to make us a really good, empty, stainless steel can to replace the OEM based on the rust and crap Hoot is finding inside.
"Superfluous" is a good word to describe an OEM preceeded by a really good 2 micron.

Lb7 smog help??
Duramax First Generation: 2001-2004 (LB7)Hi I need help, I’ve got a 2003 lb7 CA. I’m trying to get it smogged. I just did the injectors, vacuum pump, egr vacuum solenoid and the glow plugs. LB7 won't start
Duramax First Generation: 2001-2004 (LB7)I picked up an 04 lb7 from a buddy, he says it ran fine, he parked it and when he tried to start it a week later it won't start. I have checked for fuel leaks, made sure it is primed, tried pumping the primer while cranking and still no start. Security light isn't flashing, no codes, all fuses...- 9
