Hi all! I've got a question about a '98 4l80e...

When I accellerate slowly (normally....) the transmission will start to shift into 2nd, but it will hang there in limbo between gears for a little while. If I get off the throttle, or hit the brake, it seems to bring the tranny out of limbo and back into a gear. From there, if I get on the throttle, it shifts just fine.

I was hoping that this was a stuck solenoid issue, but after replacing both A and B, it is still happening... anyone have any ideas?

The thing shifts just fine outside of 1-2... And, if I am accellerating fast, it works just fine.

I have got the same thing going on in a 2001 2500 Suburban (128K). I am just starting the search.

I still haven't gotten mine fixed... I've replaced shift solenoids, but that didn't fix it.

Best I've found out is that it is a stuck shift valve in the Valve body. I'm tempted to take it out and take it to a shop for a rebuild... Either that or buy a re-man one somewhere...

Sorry I can't help you more, I've just been trying to avoid the $$$ for a full rebuild...
