Hi everyone I have a 1997 6.5 and will be doing a couple mods to it to get more “pep” out of it. I have been looking around and saw that quadstar has a multi tune for the 94 year trucks. I’ve had a few of these trucks and have had to get rid of them due to rot. Every time I always keep the ecu’s would I be able to swap a 94 ecu into my 97? And if not what would need to be done to make it work. I understand that the obd port would not work but beyond that I’m unsure. Thanks I’m advanced!

Won't work, easily.
The 94 is OBD1 while the 97 is OBD2.
You'd have to change entire wire harnesses just to get the engine to run off the '94 ECM and then the interior components will not play nice. Some of the under hood stuff is the same but you're trying to blend two different electrical eras.

Ah I see. In that case I will probably just get the single tune for the 97 ecu. Thank you!

I run a multi tuner in my obd2 trucks. It’s not the easiest thing to do but if your mechanically inclined and understand automotive wiring it’s not bad
