I am doing a thermostat replacement on a 2006 chevy 2500 with the 6.6L duramax. I know that I need the o-rings but I am also seeing a 4 bolt gasket. Is that 4 bolt gasket needed for the thermostat housing or do I only need the o-rings for the upper radiator pipe and the thermostats?

The replacement thermostats come with o-rings, there's no gasket. I would also recommend replacing the o-ring that connects the upper hose to the thermostat housing, 94011604, only a couple dollars from the dealer. 4 bolts hold the housing together, but the thermostat o-rings are what makes the seal.

Thank you! I purchased an o-ring for the upper hose and have the thermostats so I should be good to go. Appreciate the information!
