I am in the process of having the dealer replace the IP (Warranty :D ) but they called and said the intake has a crack around one of the ports near the end of the intake where it bolts to the head. I asked what cylinder but the service guy didn't know when I was talking on the phone with him.

I guess my question is has anyone else had a problem with the intake cracking?

Would it be smart to try to fix it? Or replace it?

Also I guess does anyone out there have an 'S' intake for sale?

ebaymotors might have one, but an F intake would be the choice imho.

It's probably broke off one of the ears. Go see if it's a fresh break. They might have to eat it.

Mine came back with a broken ear too!!! It was welded up and painted over!

Seems rough handling or an overzealous impact don't like those manifolds.
We see a lot of busted intakes. When you tell the customer about it he thinks you did it. So we end up getting them welded and make up the deficit somewhere else.

They crack easy.

I managed to pull mine twice without cracking or breaking an ear off... oh well, hope it holds some pressure.

The moons must be in align for me today. I found a "F" intake & plenum at a nearby wrecking yard ($65). Will I have any issues to work out or is it mearly an intake without the EGR?

You'll have nothing but trouble, box it up and send it to me...:D

Seriously though i think you'll just have to change your prom to the F and leave out the extra garbage... more experience can chime in.

I'm running an F intake on my S truck without issues. The EGR still thinks it's doing it's job and the computer agrees.

intake for 95 chevy truck with egr

Does anyone know where I can pick one up ? Would really appreciate it.:cool:
