yes it should work. if the 6.5 pump is mechanical. they are the same i believe. 6.5s didn't start using a electronic pump until 1994. only until then everything was different.
A 6.5 injection pump has 0.31" diameter plungers which allows a bit more fuel. If off a turbo, you will have high EGT. Install a pyrometer to limit skinny pedal mashing or back off the leaf spring screw 1/3 turn.
