I've been on the internet looking for an intake manifold to let my truck breathe easier. I see there is two different types, one has an open throat the other has a web in the throat, what would be the difference in perforance. (these were military related)
C code had the hole in the center for the EGR.
J code has just the divider in the middle.
I think there is only one other kind which is the military one. called open plenium since no divider is present. i dont know its purpose. I believe the air cleaner bolts are left to right instead of up and down and I beleive there is a different height to it, maybe because of the hmmwv style hood.
All the intakes that I have seen in the pre 88 trucks have the divder in them, the newer trucks do not. Allso I think they are a little bit shorter in higthe than the newer ones. The Humvee intakes also have the 2 aircleaner bolts mouted cross ways instead of inline.
