I just bought a set of tires and rims and now have a question/dilema. They are 305/70/16 **** Cepek F-C II on 16x10 Mickey Thompson Classic II. The guy run over something and had to get a new tire.Other than smoking that one down to match :) what is the best option.
If I buy another I would have a 18/32(new tire) and a 15/32.
Then the other set would be 8/32 with a spare 8/32. To me that would be alot of difference front to back but is it too much?
Or just run them this way till I wear the 3 out?

in 2wd you'll be fine, but don't use 4wd because there's too much height difference between the four and that "could" cause issues with the t-case.

also, don't run different sizes in the rear (like using a smaller spare) if you have the gov-loc

IMO, sell the 2 with 8/32 and get 2 more tires.

Just run it, you'll never have any problems, not even in 4 wheel drive.

I probably will just run them. It was a good buy I thought at $750

because you heard what you wanted? maybe nothing happens, but is it worth the risk? why do you think AWD cars have to replace all 4 tires at the same time? if you don't, it could lead to serious repairs.

the same goes for your t-case. while you may not use 4wd much, having 2 different size tires is almost like having 2 different gears front and rear. I know you're not quite that extreme, but you're close with that much difference.

it's your truck, do what you want ;)

If you have a locker, I wouldn't put it on the back, I would put it up front. Don't run it in 4wd on pavement, could break something. Probably won't, but is it worth the risk.

If I had to run it on pavement in the snow in 4 wheel would it just slip the clutches more in the front axle? It's not like we have true posi in the front or rear from the factory. I just don't know how much abuse the clutches can take before there is a problem.
