I just installed Goodyear Silent Armour 265/75-16's yesterday, will I need to recalibrate my speedometer?

So far I like the tires. They ride much better than the Bridgestones.

My speedometer is more accurate with 265's, then it was with the original 245's, per my GPS.

My truck is just off by a little, at 68 I am doing a little bit under 70.

My experience was that it made the speedo more accurate. Most speedos come from the factory reading too high. In some German performance cars, it can be as much as 8-10%.

Mine now reads very close with 265-75-16 Coopers, within a mph at 70 mph, maybe a bit on the low side.

yah, mine is more accurate with the 265 as well. I would just leave it where it is with the 265's. but you don't have to listen to me.:D

I agree with them.

After I put my 265s on I tested the mph with my GPS and it was right on.:)

Most of you guys think 265's are around a 32" tire?

Mathmatical change from 245 to 265 only 3.7%...barely noticable...and from what some guys say, actually more accurate than factory.

Thanks for the replies. I'll leave my speedo alone and see how it goes.

With a programmer, plug in 31.50", 31.75", or 32"? Just like to know what would be the most accurate. I've got 32" plugged into mine & @ 70 mph my rpm's are around 2050. Sound about right?

Thanks.

Great looking tires! I am leaning towards the Silent Armours for my replacement tires.

This will vary on the gear ratio that's in your rearend...

All Terrain 265/75R16's tend to be about 31.5" and then Mud Terrain/Max Traction tires tend to be around 32" (Discoverer STT's are 32" even)

It would have been nice if they came with 265/75R16's from the factory, but it also would have been nice if they came with wider rimes, instead of the worthless 16x6.5"

This brings up my question, have any of you had wear issues with 265/75R16's on the stock rims ?

I ask my buddy about wear after he installed the 265's. He said even though the tire is pulled in some if I keep them at 55 psi they should wear evenly. I hope he is right about the wear I know at 55psi they ride pretty good.

Great Looking Tire/ Truck for sure!!! Nice work. I too wouldnt be worried about the small diff in speedo reading. i run 50 psi in mine and they work pretty well.

I've got 3:73 in the rear. I've also got AT's so maybe I'll knock my tire size down to 31.5".

Thanks for the info.
