I have a 2003 2500HD Ext. cab D/A with 3900 miles on it. My previous vehicle was a 99 1500 Ext. cab Z71.

My 2500HD makes alot of clunking from the rear end on bumps, etc... I had it in to the dealer last week and they put the spring insulators on and re-torqued everything. Is this kind of noise from the rear end of a 2500HD re-bounding normal? I put Bilstein shocks on and it seems to have gotten better but I still hear it while trucking down the tollway. Granted I am going 80mph but just want to verify whether this is normal or not.

I was getting the same type of noise from the frontend until the trip to the dealer last week. They said the control arm was loose. That does not sound good!

However, the Bilsteins made a world of difference.

Thanks - Curtis
