was chevy using allison in 2004?
i ask because i saw a duramax engine for sale on ebay, it was a complete engine including accesories and tranny AND transfer case with under 28000 miles on it for 6500.00 buy it now. thats sounds a little suspicious to me. the guy said the truck had an allison sticker on it......he didn't say the tranny was an allison

if its an automatic and a duramax its a allison but there should be no allison badges on the exterior of the truck unless someone put it on

Sticker or not, the Allison is the only tranny that has ever come with the Duramax. Some of the gas engines did not come with it though.

I have the Allison in my 04, the decal on the door did not start to say Allison until late 05 I believe.
