2004.5 nav swap

I have a 2004.5 silverado crew cab that I am interested in swapping out to the navigation screen. My truck does not have bose or on-star. I do not know much about the newer model trucks, but I know that some of the old ones had a factory amp and some were built into the radio. Can any one plese tell me if the swap is possible in my truck, I am not interested in changing out factory amplifiers. Any help would be awesome thanks...Ryan

from my post right below this it seems that there are some models that came with navigation that do not have bose. the builc rendvous is one of those vechiles. if i can get a part number i might be able to get one from my friend

Actually non-Bose navs are quite rare. I beleive the Rendezvous (sp) was the ONLY vehicle that ever came with a nav and no Bose system. The Buick Rendezvous nav units are NON-touchscreen...but they do work without the Bose system. If you really want a touch screen nav, you can buy a Bose nav unit (non-lux) and hook up an aftermarket amp/speakers to it and it will work fine.
