Currently it is about 19*F outside. Figured it would be a good day to install the pyrometer probe into the exhaust manifold. Previously installed the boost tubing. Now just have to install the temp probe for the engine oil temp.

Whoever has thought twice about drilling and taping their exhaust manifold. Don't. It's easy as can be, biggest pain was removing the inner fender and that wasn't hard. I thought drilling the manifold would be tough but it's real easy drilling. :D

I was a little nervous myself, and your right, removing the inner fender was the hardest part.

I'm gonna be doing the same thing this weekend. Glad to hear it's no big deal. I've got that and the boost sensor figured, but where are you mounting the probe for the engine oil temp. gauge?

My question too. I bought Auto meter Z gauges and it has a 1/2" fitting for the probe and I'm not sure where to put the probe.

Still havn't finished that part yet, you will need a 1/4 inch pipe to 1/8 inch pipe bushing.

Auto Meter Sport Comp II's look to be pretty close, and are LED lit. Here's a 0-1600 pyro. :thumb:

Today I installed the sender for the temp gauge. NOTE TO ANYONE DOING IT!!!! I recomend removing the inner fender to do it. I had tried to remove it from under the truck the other day and you can't get it good and the hex key wants to jump out. Had I kept going I would have stripped it the other day. Today I removed the inner fender and was able to heat the fitting up with a torch to free up the red locktite. I was wrong about the fitting size before, I thought I would need a 1/4 inch to 1/8 adapter. The auto meter kit comes with a 1/2 to 1/8 and a 3/8 to 1/8. I plug in the hole is a 1/2 plug so that adapter worked out swell.
Used a 10MM hex along with a long extension and breaker bar. Broke it lose quickly.
