It was 140( I Think)after the core charge was refunded. I think the brand of the store is Auto Value. They are set up a lot like NAPA. Matter of fact, they trade parts with the NAPA up the street from them.

I'm pretty sure a 145 will bolt right where a 105 sat; the bolts may be different. I'm almost positave its a different belt, too.

The belt shouldnt make any difference at all. Thats what a belt tensioner is for. It'll automatically take out the slack.
I would've thought so too, but gm-auto-parts shows a 97300653 belt for the 105A and a 97300656 for the 130A and 145A alts...

Slightly larger pulley on the 145 i believe...

It swapped right over on my truck, used the old belt too. The housing is noticably larger, but it looks to have the same pulley placement(distance from mounting holes to pulley).

Shouldn't have a problem; it's factory w/the VYU snow plow prep...

I'm willing to upgrade to a 140 or 200Amp on my 6.5. Anything special I must care about? No trouble for ECM or something else?
I bet I can just bolt on the new one, but that looks too simple...

On the 6.5 (and maybe on the Duramax, I don't know) if the pulley is not the right size, your tach will be off.

My old 6.5 had a gasser alternator and the tach was always high. It read about 2500 when my scantool read 2200. Didn't worry me too much but I'd be concerned if it was the other direction.

If your running a plow, lots of lights, or a winch you dont drain your batteries.

You should change the belt to the size made for the 145 amp alternator. The 105 belt is short and you will put too much pressure on your bearings, all of them. The a/c, tensioner, idlers and power steering. Been there and done that. The 97300655 works on dual 145 alts, but belt was super tight and alternator(clutched) was making noises. The 97300657 was only 23mm longer but it stopped the alternator bearing noise that was very noticeable. Point being, get the belt made for the application.
