Hey guys. So I’ve noticed here lately that when going approx 40-60 mph that if I try to accelerate I’ll get a grinding noise. The truck is an 07 LBZ crew cab 4x4 with a spade tuner. Drive it most of the time in economy mode unless towing, adds 100 hp. Makes the noise while in 2wd, haven’t really ever had to use the 4x4 so not sure about that. Just changed the transmission fluid. It was dirty but there were not any metal chunks in the old fluid. Any ideas of what could be causing this or other tests to do that would narrow down the cause?

Have you checked the transfer case for any pump rub issues?

Haven’t done that yet. Was planning on pulling the fill plug here in the next couple days to see if the fluid was at a good level. I’ve read online the pump rub doesn’t produce a sound until it’s worn all the way through the t-case. Didn’t make sense to me as metal rubbing metal should produce a sound.
