Could there be a Performance increase by installing a Turbo from an 06' LBZ onto a 04.5' LLY? GM says that with the revised design of the engine one of the things that was changed was "-A smoother and more efficient turbocharger"

Do you think that there could be real benefits like milage, turbo response or boost levels?

Having driven both 04.5 and 07, I'd say no to mileage, no to boost, but yes to turbo response. The 06/07 turbos have better response and seem to light faster (quicker throttle response).

Is it worth the swap, no... much easier ways to get the same thing.

If you do the swap, I'll take the 04.5 turbo off your hands.

May be able to search for this, I think that McRat tried this when the LBZ first became available. I am pretty sure his results were exactly as written above. No real increase in power, but better response.

Yup, nothing showed on the dyno or the track, but there was better throttle response. It died fairly quickly.
