Are HD grills different than the non-HD's? And since I am putting on a 05 hood, I know I need the 05 grill. Is there anything else that has to be swapped??

Or will my 04 grill work with the 05 hood?

I know you'll need to switch to the '05-'07 grill to match the hood, but I'm not sure about the differences between the '05-'07 HD grills and the '06-'07 non-HD's. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

05 HD's had the updated grille in 06 & 07 all the trucks went to the bigger hood and grille

Yeah I know that part, I am looking to know if the non-hd grills are the same or differnet. I was at the dealer looking around and they look the same kinda.

I believe they are the same, though you may want to call a dealer and ask for a part number for both a half-ton and an HD truck. I think the only part different between the models is the height of the bumper pad.

core is the same
new hood and grill and that is it

Yup just a hood and grill, have the hood just need a grill now. Hopefully I can find one soon the truck is almost done.

Not entirely correct, as the '99-'02 trucks had a completely different front end than the '03-'07 trucks. Not the mention the 1500HD's and 2500LD's being thrown into the mix. But still close enough for the purposes of this thread.

Well I found a 06 grille in Indiana, hopefully it will work. Its off a 1500 so I will let you all know where or not it works.
